Introduction

On February 28, 2025, and March 5, 2025, VINASA (Vietnam Software and IT Services Association) hosted its Annual Executive Committee Meeting and Member Networking Event. The event attracted over 250 businesses, government officials, and international partners. It served as a key platform for discussing the rapid growth and transformation of Vietnam’s digital and IT sectors, with new policies opening up opportunities for both businesses and the industry at large.

Key Highlights and Future Strategies for Digital Transformation

Policies in the Digital Tech Sector

Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, emphasized that the IT and digital sectors are critical drivers of Vietnam’s economic development.

A major highlight of the event was the discussion around Resolution 57, introduced as a groundbreaking policy for Vietnam’s IT and digital sectors. The growth in these sectors has made a significant contribution to the country’s GDP, with many local digital tech companies expanding internationally, demonstrating innovation and competitiveness.

New policies like Resolution 57 et Resolution 193 are being rapidly implemented, opening up new opportunities for businesses. The Deputy Minister urged businesses to take full advantage of these policies to drive further innovation. He encouraged companies to invest in strategic technologies and create ecosystems that can address national challenges such as digital transformation.

Achievements in 2024 of VINASA

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, President of VINASA, shared the association’s remarkable achievements.

In 2024, VINASA made significant strides in advancing the digital tech sector:

  • Conferences and Exhibitions: Organized four major conferences and exhibitions, showcasing 226 digital transformation solutions to nearly 9,000 government, business, and international partners.

  • Business Networking: Facilitated 500 one-on-one business matching sessions, connecting local companies with international partners.

  • Awards and Recognition: Honored 178 solutions et 207 companies through prestigious awards such as the Sao Khuê Awards et Top 10 Outstanding Digital Tech Companies.

  • Green Transformation Initiatives: Supported green transformation through a training program et 4 workshops dans Hanoi, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, et Ho Chi Minh City, benefiting nearly 500 businesses.

  • International Expansion: Led 16 business delegations, helping over 400 companies form partnerships with key global markets, including the NOUS, Japan, Corée du Sud, Europe, Taïwan, le UK, et Singapour.

  • Policy Advocacy: Contributed to important legislative reforms, including updates to VAT tax laws, data protection laws, and regulations on digital industries et information security.

Strategic Goals for 2025-2030

Looking ahead, VINASA’s 2025-2030 Strategy lays out clear goals to further elevate the Vietnamese digital tech sector:

  • Develop elite human resources to ensure the workforce is equipped with cutting-edge skills necessary for technological innovation.
  • Promote the application and development of AI, positioning Vietnam as a leader in artificial intelligence solutions.
  • Adopt green and smart technologies to ensure the digital sector aligns with global sustainability practices.
  • Encourage global expansion, helping Vietnamese companies bring their innovations to international markets.
  • Foster breakthrough policies that align with Resolution 57, driving the digital transformation of both businesses and government sectors.

These strategies are designed to build a robust, sustainable, and globally competitive IT ecosystem in Vietnam, strengthening the country’s position in the global digital economy.
