Operationally, very little has changed. An employee may still need to verify the result, move it into another system, initiate an approval, resolve exceptions manually, and document what happened elsewhere.<\/p>\n<p>AI has automated one task, but the workflow itself remains manual. McKinsey found that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mckinsey.com\/capabilities\/quantumblack\/our-insights\/the-state-of-ai-how-organizations-are-rewiring-to-capture-value\">workflow redesign had the strongest association with EBIT impact from generative AI<\/a><\/strong>, yet only 21% of organizations using generative AI had fundamentally redesigned at least some workflows.<\/p>\n<p>At scale, these weaknesses also become governance problems. Organizations need to know which data serves as the authoritative source, what AI can change, when humans must intervene, and how they can trace decisions later.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The issue is not that organizations need more AI. They need connected, governed workflows that AI can operate across reliably.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Once an AI system moves beyond generating text and begins informing or
