Da Nang, Vietnam – November 2025
From November 3 to 5, 2025, nearly 400 leaders, innovators, and policy-makers from Switzerland, Vietnam, Europe, and ASEAN gathered in Da Nang for the Swiss–Viet Economic Forum (SVEF) 2025 under the theme “Innovation Partnership for Sustainable Growth.”

A Forum Bridging Economies and Innovation Ecosystems
Co-organized by the Da Nang People’s Committee, le Embassy of Switzerland in Vietnam, et le Swiss–Viet Economic Forum (SVEF), the event underscored the strategic importance of economic diplomacy and innovation-driven growth between the two nations.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Le Thi Thu Hang, opened the forum by highlighting how Switzerland has been a “long-term companion helping Vietnam realize its goals of green development, innovation, and people-centered growth.” Swiss Ambassador, Thomas Gass, emphasized Switzerland’s pride in supporting Vietnam’s digital transformation journey and in advancing a rules-based, sustainable approach to trade and technology.
With Da Nang positioned to become Vietnam’s International Financial Centre (IFC) and a hub for AI, semiconductor, and FinTech development, the forum served as a symbol of Vietnam’s ambition to connect regional and global innovation ecosystems.
Petr Krasnov’s Insights: Vietnam’s ITO Evolution
Speaking on behalf of Verysell Group and SmartDev, Petr Krasnov shared his perspective on Vietnam’s rapid progress as a global IT and BPO destination.
“In manufacturing, we saw China evolve from a source of low-quality but cheap production to now producing mid-range and even luxury goods. Vietnam’s ITO sector has been on a similar journey,” Krasnov explained. “The overall pricing level remains extremely attractive, often below India or the Philippines, yet Vietnam now offers a much wider range of software quality. Enterprise clients from developed markets can find Vietnamese companies delivering at levels previously available only from local or nearshore providers.”
He added that this shift reflects Vietnam’s maturing technology ecosystem and the increasing expectation for strategic partnerships that combine cost efficiency with engineering excellence.

Vietnam’s Strengths as a Trusted Outsourcing Partner
The discussion also explored why Vietnam stands out as one of the world’s most promising destinations for IT and software outsourcing. As a Top 10 global leader in software development, the country combines a highly skilled talent base, excellent cost-to-quality balance, et a culture that values collaboration and adaptability.
With more than 530,000 IT professionals and a fast-growing ecosystem spanning DevOps, Cloud, AI, and mobile application development, Vietnam offers depth and diversity in technical expertise. The nation’s English-proficient workforce, together with internationally recognized certifications such as ISO/IEC 27001, ISO 9001, et GDPR compliance, ensures that its services meet global enterprise standards.
Vietnam also offers seamless time-zone alignment with European markets, enabling real-time collaboration, and a politically stable, innovation-friendly environment supported by R&D incentives and tax benefits. Combined with a strong cultural affinity for teamwork and client partnership, these factors position Vietnam as an ideal outsourcing destination for Swiss and European companies seeking high-value, sustainable technology collaboration.
Comme Petr Krasnov emphasized, SmartDev’s experience within the Verysell Group exemplifies this partnership: “By combining Swiss precision with Vietnamese agility, we deliver consistent quality, reliability, and innovation to our clients worldwide.”

Opportunities for Swiss Vietnamese Collaboration
The panel also examined best practices for cross-border partnerships, including contracting, data protection, quality assurance and governance, key topics for companies operating across borders. Petr emphasized that SmartDev’s success story is built on resilient, high-performing offshore teams and a blend of Swiss discipline with Vietnamese adaptability.
“It’s not just about building offshore teams; it’s about building trust, process maturity, and a culture of continuous learning,” he shared.
As Switzerland and Vietnam continue to deepen ties in green transition, digital transformation, and innovation, forums like SVEF serve as catalysts for turning strategies into action. The Da Nang edition marked a milestone, the first time the forum was held in Vietnam after three successful rounds in Zurich, bringing bilateral cooperation closer to where implementation happens.

Vietnam’s Momentum in the Global Tech Landscape
With Da Nang emerging as a smart city and innovation hub, and Switzerland recognized for its strengths in finance, research and education, the two countries are natural partners in building a bridge between Europe and Southeast Asia.
As SVEF President Dr Philipp Rösler put it, SVEF 2025 is about turning strategy into action, aligning policy, capital and know-how to accelerate innovation and inclusive growth.
Verysell Group and SmartDev are honored to contribute to that mission by delivering world-class software solutions that combine Swiss precision and Vietnamese agility.
