The project involved several significant challenges. Firstly, the use of an outdated framework with minimal documentation made it difficult to understand the existing system and implement necessary changes. This lack of documentation posed significant obstacles in comprehending the system’s design and functionality. Additionally, the system itself had a complex design with many redundant code segments, further complicating the process. Another major challenge was ensuring seamless integration with the front end and other client systems. Lastly, meeting our client’s high-security standards was paramount, adding another layer of complexity to the project.
The business goals of the project include providing reliable and comprehensive credit information to businesses and consumers, enhancing financial inclusion by enabling informed credit decisions, maintaining high standards of fraud protection and credit monitoring, and expanding market presence and services across Southeast Asia. On the technical side, the goals are to improve product performance and user experience, migrate from an old application framework to a new, more efficient one, enhance the quality and maintainability of the codebase, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems while meeting high-security standards.

The Solution
The project involved several critical steps to improve the existing system. Initially, thorough code reviews and debugging tools were used to understand the system architecture, followed by detailed documentation to aid understanding. Comprehensive documentation was developed, including code comments, system design overviews, and workflow diagrams. The team engaged in refactoring the code to remove redundancies, implementing best practices, and collaborating with the client for optimization. An incremental approach to integration was adopted, using automated testing tools and performing regular client reviews. Enhanced security measures were implemented, including adherence to ISO 27001 standards, security audits, threat protection, and secure data handling procedures. Additionally, a secure VPN was established for project operations.
