A Dutch BFSI startup’s financial advisory prototype was failing: high overhead, slow and inaccurate outputs, no AI layer — just hand-coded logic with no way to audit what it produced. For a financial services product, that’s a compliance risk, not just a UX one.

  • No AI or Governance Capability: The client had zero in-house AI or intelligent-systems experience, and no internal capability to govern what an AI agent could safely say to end-users.

  • Legacy Platform Limitations: The existing system’s outdated architecture created technical debt and made it infeasible to bolt on AI features, let alone AI features that could be audited or validated.
  • No Structured Risk / Case Knowledge: Recommendations and guidance had no consistent source of truth — without a structured knowledge base, every AI output risked being inconsistent or unexplainable to a reviewer.
  • Vision vs. Reality Gap: The client’s vision for compliance-grade, AI-driven financial guidance required building an entirely new platform and workflow infrastructure, not patching the old one.

  • Full-Scope Workflow Automation Platform: Designed and built a comprehensive web portal from scratch for end-users, employers, consultants, and administrators with role separation built in from day one.
  • AI Agent on a Governed Knowledge Base: Built a virtual assistant grounded in a structured knowledge base of cases, so every answer traces back to defined, reviewable logic instead of an unconstrained model response.
  • Guardrail-Validated Responses: Added an automated validation layer (guardrails) that checks every AI-generated response against approved boundaries before it reaches a user,  turning “AI said so” into a controlled, defensible output.
  • Automated Risk & Health Assessment: A financial data calculation engine assesses each user’s financial/risk position in real time, replacing manual review with a consistent, repeatable process.
  • Proposal Generation & Audit-Ready Tracking: Smart proposal generation and goal-tracking give every recommendation a documented, timestamped trail.
  • Scenario & Life-Event Risk Visualization: Interactive tools let users model life events (marriage, home purchase, retirement) and see the financial and risk implications visualized before they commit.
